چکیده

We present the latest results on event-by-event fluctuations of charged particle multiplicity in Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV and 62.4 GeV measured by PHENIX experiment at RHIC. The two particle correlation length to discuss order parameters, which can be extracted from scale dependence of the fluctuations, is supposed to be sensitive to the critical points of QCD phase transition. The obtained correlation length with respect to the pseudo rapidity gap indicates the power law behavior as a function of the number of participant nucleons for Au+Au collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV.

The PHENIX Experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider has made measurements of event-by-event fluctuations in the net charge, the mean transverse momentum, and the charged particle multiplicity as a function of collision energy, centrality, and transverse momentum in heavy ion collisions. The results of these measurements will be reviewed and discussed.. 1. Introduction The PHENIX experi...

PHENIX: measurements and jet contribution simulations

Small, but significant non-random fluctuations in event-by-event average pT have been observed in Au+Au collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV by the PHENIX collaboration. These are consistent with being caused by correlations due to jets at large pT , where the measured suppression must be included to reproduce the centrality dependence of the non-random fluctuations. 1. The event-by-event average pT d...

Charge Fluctuations at Mid-Rapidity in Au+Au Collisions in the PHENIX Experiment at RHIC

Charged particle event-by-event fluctuations have long been considered as a possible signature of quark gluon plasma formation in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions [ 1]. That the interest in fluctuations remains high in the era of RHIC is evidenced by the large number of recent theoretical [ 2, 3, 4], as well as experimental [ 5, 6, 7], studies published since the previous Quark Matter co...

Scaling Properties of Fluctuation Results from the PHENIX Experiment at RHIC

The PHENIX Experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider has made measurements of event-by-event fluctuations in the charged particle multiplicity as a function of collision energy, centrality, collision species, and transverse momentum in several heavy ion collision systems. It is observed that the fluctuations in terms of σ/μ exhibit a universal power-law scaling as a function of Npartici...
